The trail steepens but it's short. Soon you come to the first lookout. Follow the cut out log down tot he lookout and a bench. It's real pretty. once done head back up the trail and carry on. The trail is not as steep, a little hilly. Follow it along as it snakes it's way up tot eh microwave tower. Follow the trail through the trees and behind the tower is the 2nd lookout, real pretty. There's lots of exploring to do on Thacker. The day we went the ticks were bad so we will return once they disappeared.
History: Thacker's was homesteaded by a Mr. and Mrs. Thacker, who came out from Edwardian England in 1906, bought the hill, and lived up there for years and years. When walking on the trails, you may come upon the little graveyard that they are in (both died in the 1950's or 1960's,)and you can still see some portions of the footings of their cabin. Around the cabin site, thousands of snowdrops bloom in early spring, planted there by Mrs. Thacker so long ago. When the Thackers died, their property was left to UBC.
