Buying Hikers
Hikers are going to be one of your most important items you'll purchase. Your feet need to be comfortable able to carry your load for many kilometers. Finding a good store with an employee who knows what they are talking about is also vital to your big purchase. Being able to return your boots or if they don't last will also play a important roll.
There are so many boots to choose from. Ones with ankle support, aggressive treads, waterproof and attractive. Your feet should have 1/4-2 inches room in the front as the longer you are on your feet the more they will swell. Your feet need that room so you don't get blisters. You should have no heel lifting in the back; this causes blisters. Try the boots on with the socks thickness you plan on wearing to get a proper fit.
Boot Lacing:
A great way to tie your boots is when looping them at the end is to tie 1, 3 , 2 series. It gives you more support or you can tie your boot as a 1, 2 and on 3 looping it downward.
Blister prevention:
Wear socks inside out and if using tape to prevent blisters put tape on length wise instead of width.
These are just some ideas of ways to help your feet stay happy on your adventures. Happy feet equals a happy hiker! Don't feel overwhelmed when boot shopping...take your time and visit many stores. Your feet will thank you for it.
