Bridal Falls Lookout: Chilliwack
Moderate, hills, steep, view, dog friendly, kid friendly
Elevation: 770 meters
Length: 7 km's return
Dogs: Yes
Pit Toilet: yes at the lookout
Note: This is a launch site for para-gliders so be respectful of that. It's also a Forest Service Road so be aware that 4x4's will be driving it in the summer months and it could be active logging at anytime.
This could be a hike in late Spring, Summer or Fall and a snowshoe/MICROspike in the winter.
Hiking Checklist:
Backpack, poles, MICROspikes or snowshoes (on icy/snowy days), 10-essentials, tell someone
Directions: Take Agassiz/Bridal Falls exit and follow the road to Popkum, turn right and find parking if you are not driving up the road.
Trail: This is not an actual Bridal Falls Lookout, it's a launch for para gliders and views of the valley, Cheam and Harrison. Walk past the Bridal Falls FSR and past the water tower staying left. The road snakes and goes straight. It's steep. There are some flat sections but they are short. Nearer the top there's one long flat section, a steep section, hilly then a fork in to the launch pad & lookout.the road. Going left takes you to Cheam and staying right takes you to the lookout. As you near the Alder you are very close. Soon you can see the opening. Make your way through the snaky rock path and the views pop out. Right is Harrison and the rest is the valley below. There's a bench on the hillside and a pit toilet. Once you tire of the views (never) head back the way you came. Happy & safe trails.
