Trail Key: E~2~CC~M~V~DF~KF~WF
Length: 7 K return Elevation: Minimal Dog Friendly: Yes~on leash Pit Tolet: No Directions: From the Port Mann bridge take 7 East it turns into Pinetree Way after the intersection with the mall. Follow Pinetree Way to Guildford Way; turn right. Follow Guildford Way to Pipelne Rd: turn left. Follow until David Ave; turn right. Follow until at Shaughnessy Street; turn left. At the end of the street is Karley Cresent. Park here. The un-marked TH is here. Walk into the forest and follow the river. BC Hydro is currently monitoring juvenile fish population by using a rotary screw trap. You can see it down on the river. This trail is a bike trail and part of Pinecone Burke Provincial Park. The path snakes its way along the river dropping at first and slightly climbing after. There are cool things along the way: railway tiles, raspberry bushes, several creeks to cross, tons of mudd (maybe not so cool), moss covered trees, ponds, Fiddleheads, Trilliums, wild Bleeding Hearts, ending with a beautiful Crystal Falls. Eventually you'll come to a 'T' interesection; go left and keep following the trail. It's an easy walk. It's about 45 minutes to the falls. Look for an abandoned truck before the falls...we missed it but it's suppose to be there. Once at the falls find a nice spot and have a snack. When you've had your nature fill head back the way you came. Happy & safe hiking. |
