Trail: There are several loops to do at Richmond Nature Park. The neat thing about this park is it's a Bog and a forest. There are a ton of birds including: Hummingbirds, Towhee, Downy & Hairy Woodpeckers, Great Horned & Barred Owls, Junco & Sparrows, squirrels, ducks, rabbits, Chickadees and many more. There are many Bog plants: Sphagnum Moss, Sundew, Bog Laurel, Blueberry, Labrador Tea, Cranberry, Shore Pine & Red Elderberry. All these together are changing this paradise into a bog & a forest.
We walked the The Bog Forest Trail. It starts on the boardwalk near the bird area and not long after you're walkig on bark or wood chips. It's a beautiful place to visit and take pictures. Follow the loop as it winds around the Sphagnum Bog with all sorts of Bog plants. It's flat and loops back to the Nature Center. It's 1.8 km's however, you can add up to 5 km's by doing other trail walks: Quaking Trail, Time Trail & Pond Trail.
Happy & safe trails.
