Directions: Take the Kensington exit in Burnaby; stay right and turn right onto Sprott St. Drive down the road and you will see the complex and parking lot. Find parking closer to the club house may be a good idea as you will be finishing your hike near there.
Trail: Start your trail walk on the north-east corner. There's a map when you first start the trail that you can take a picture of or you can pick up a paper map at the Nature Centre along the way. It'll guide you along if you plan on doing the entire loop. There are several branches for the 1st branch stay left. The next two, stay right. On the left side you'll see a little walk to a lookout tower. It's worth the few extra steps to see Bby Lake and all the birds flocking about. Right after the lookout is a wharf to walk along and get farther out. It's pretty. The next two branches stay right. Soon you'll pass the Western Painted Turtle nesting area. We did not see any but it's a pretty area to sit and have a snack. As you walk along you'll come to the Cariboo Dam, cross the bridge. Follow the trail along and then go right on the road like path. You may encounter horses here. Keep dogs leashed and give right of way tot he horses and their riders. After the open road the wooded trail appears again to the right. The next several branches, stay right. You’ll walk along a boardwalk with a view and a couple benches. Then you'll cross a suspension bridge over looking the lake. Then stay right for the next stretch. Cross parking lot & road where trail picks up again on the other side. The is the last of the trail walk & then you come out into a sports field. Follow the road along to the left and back to where you parked earlier. Happy & safe walking trails.
