This just might be my favorite 'new' spot. Enter from 24th & 140th Avenue in South Surrey. There is quite a big parking lot but no washrooms.
Start your walk and go right along 'Aldergrove' and left to 'Chickadee Loop Trail', this is a 4 km loop and really well marked. I found it to be a slice of heaven in this park.
There are many other trails and I will save those for another time. The trail thins at times and is quite bushy...There are no hills but you could walk faster or run. It's a perfect starter hike or a daily one. Eventually you will come out onto the road, stay left and the trail picks up again. I noticed wood posts that are numbered which helps you to find your way if the trail name is not enough. Each trail starts off with number 1 and Chickadee goes to 12. If you had a map (which they don't have on site) you could see how it all works. For now the 'Chickadee Loop Trail' gives you just what you need. There are lots of runners, walkers and dogs. There are a couple of times where you're not sure if you go left or right but if you go the wrong way you will end up on the street so just go back and it is easy to figure out! I really enjoyed my time at Sunnyside. Happy & safe trails!
