Length: 5.2 Km’s Elevation: Minimal Toilets: Yes-beginning Dogs: Yes I visited an enchanted forest today. It is a well maintained park with covered picnic tables, playground area, meadows, tree house, picnic tables & benches
There is a deep history within the park. It was once owned by David Brown, an early pioneer who left it for his twin sons David & Peter for their 21st birthdays. It was originally logged but the boys took pride in the park and their 40 hectares they each had and started planting many different exotic species of trees from around the world. You will see: Lawson Cypress, Red Pine, Norway Spruce, Grand Fir, Douglas Fir, Pacific Yew, Western White Pine, +. These trees are labeled and a brief history is explained. My favorite part of this park is the hobbit/fairy doors, as seen in my picture. It is so unique and brings the park to life. The twin brothers built a tree house, which they lived in. It burnt down many times, but has since been re-built and is a feature in the park. This is a great place to walk your dog (no off leash area) and is an amazing spot to take your children but I warn you the child in you just may surface. Happy Trails!
