It's been a long time since I have blogged! Yesterday on the trail I started a blog in my head and I knew I had to talk about it. Snacks or snackles!!!
I am not good at preparing snacks for my outdoor adventures. Yesterday my friend, let's call her, "The Snack Queen!" Did she ever show up. She showed up for herself and me. My snacks were a plain bar, some nuts and an crispy sweet apple (not even cut!!!) Lame right? I know...just say it! That's the lazy snackler. Me... The Snack Queen, and I say that with complete kindness, showed up with double smoked meat thickly sliced, gouda cheese, crackers and dates for dessert. Each separated into their own little bags AND enough to share. And share she did. Sweet!! I wasn't shy since it was deliciously tasty and my backpack was made it a artistic charcuterie board. So we sat by a babbling creek, reflected on our 10+ kilometer journey, our stunning photos that I am sure National Geographic is coming to place on their front page and how by summers end we will complete this hiking circle they named, "loop." So I ask you, What is your snack go to on your outdoor adventures? Do you make an amazing sandwich? Or do you have cut up veggies and humus? Is it fruit, perhaps an apple sliced with cinnamon? What is your snack? Are snacks important to you? Have you ever wished you had your adventure buddies snacks? I know I have to snack up and get better at this because let's face it...the journey is about all the beauty in nature, photography, being with people that fill our buckets calling forth our best and the snacks! So tell me, what's your snackel?
