Grouse Grind, North Vancouver Hiking Key: C~2~TR~SC~S~V~FT~H~KF Length: 2.9 Km’s Elevation: 853 meters Toilet: yes-beginning/top Dogs: No So you want to climb 2,830 stairs? Well that's what you get when you sign up for this hike. You need money for parking. There is a restaurant & shopping at the top. You need lots of water, snacks & good shoes. Don't let anyone fool you into thinking that it's not much as you climb 853 meters. There are three, what I call happy signs when doing this hike...1st, 1/2 and 3/4 marks. It is a brutal hike. It is not recommended to go down the trail and is actually known to damage your knees. This trail is not open year round.
The first section should be taken slowly as each section is measured in elevation and not distance. The next two sections are steep as well. The first section is the longest. You will crawl up some rocks, a few ropes to steady your climb and step after grueling step. The views up top are amazing and you can visit the Grizzlies, zip line, eat or find many more hikes at the top. Happy & safe trails!
